Welcome to 制服诱惑 School's Family Liaison Blog!

It does seem that once the holidays are over the sun comes out, or is that just my opinion? I hope that you enjoyed the holidays. Summer term is particularly busy as the exam season will be upon us soon. There are more out of school trips, transitions etc too.
Do you find these blogs useful? Is there anything else you would like included? Let me know; you鈥檒l find my contact details at the end.

Preparation for Adulthood:
The Parent Forum has been running for over a year now, with very good uptake from parents/carers. This is heartening, as we want to ensure that you are prepared as best you can be for the transition of your young person to adulthood and the changes which ensue.
Our next forum will be on Wednesday 20th May, deferred from the original date to give you plenty of time to plan to attend/join. The next session focus is decision making for your young adult. We feel that this is relevant for families of students in Year 7 and above.
As part of the session, we will be looking at finances, trusts etc. I鈥檝e found a link to a webinar which may be useful. Please see the information section, SOS SEN for details.
Here is a link to the letter which has been sent this week:
Information: Annual Health Checks:
People, aged 14 and above who are on their GP鈥檚 Learning Disability register are eligible for a free annual health check. I鈥檒l include links to further information below. These are invaluable for many reasons:
- This can help to identify any medical issues early on, otherwise, problems could be missed and lead to more serious consequences.
- To get a health check, ask your GP to add your child to the Learning Disability Register. This can be done at any age, but they will only be invited for checks once they’re 14.
- It offers a forum for opening discussions with your young person鈥檚 GP about support, signposting as they approach adulthood.
- After the check, your child should be given a Health Action Plan to help them stay well. This can also be used to shape any health outcomes in their EHC plan, SEN support plan, or adulthood transition review.

With an imminent Parent Forum on making decisions for your young adult, this looks interesting.
鈥Planning for your child’s financial future can feel overwhelming, especially when navigating benefit rules, legal arrangements, and savings options that most financial advisors do not fully understand.
That is exactly why we have brought together three specialists for the SEND Financial Empowerment Webinar on 14 May.
Cara Roughani, Founder of SEND Protect, David Simmons, SEND Specialist Estate Planner, and Bridie Solferino, SEND Financial Advisor, will be sharing clear, practical guidance you can actually take away and use.
Tickets are 拢10 and available here:
Thursday 14 May, 6:30pm to 8pm, via Microsoft Teams鈥.

New SEN Caseworker Duty Line (Pilot) 鈥 from Monday 4 May 2026
From Monday 4 May 2026, the SEND service is piloting a single point of contact for SEN caseworker queries to make it easier to reach them and to help them to respond more quickly.
How to contact the send team (from 4 May 2026)
Phone: 0191 277 4650
Email: [email protected]
What鈥檚 changing:
* One phone number and one email address will be the main route into the SEN Caseworker Team.
* Enquiries will be logged and triaged so the right person can respond.
* Individual caseworkers will no longer reply directly to emails
What to expect when you contact the team:
If your query can be answered straight away, they’ll do so. If not, it will be picked up by a duty caseworker, who will aim to respond by the end of the next working day.
If it鈥檚 complex, it may be passed to your child鈥檚 allocated caseworker. You鈥檒l get an acknowledgement if a full response can鈥檛 be provided by the next working day. Follow-up will be within three working days, with updates if it takes longer.
If you email your caseworker directly:
You won鈥檛 be ignored – You鈥檒l receive an automatic reply directing you to the duty line/central email address.

FoPHS News:
The AGM is approaching. We know that families are busy and hope that you see the value of the FoPHS. Without your support we couldn鈥檛 provide the support we do. You can support us in different ways, volunteering your time, joining the 100 club, donating for raffle, sharing ideas and taking on sponsored events to raise funds for us.
The AGM will take place on Wednesday 13th May from 9.30-11.00. A TEAMS link will be available for those who would like to join this way.
Here is a copy of the letter:
